Look bro, rumors are flying that Avatar: The Last Airbender Season 3 has officially started production. And there’s another big piece of news: some cast members are confirmed to return for Season 3. Kim recently said, “We’re just getting started.”
Now, who is Kim? Let me tell you—he’s a South Korean actor, Daniel Dae Kim. He voiced General Fong in one episode of the original Avatar: The Last Airbender cartoon, and he even reprised the role in the spin-off video game The Burning Earth. He also played Asami’s father in The Legend of Korra.
Now back to the topic—
Aang (played by Gordon Cormier) and the rest of Team Avatar are uniting the heavens and the earth, it seems. Season 2 has officially wrapped up shooting, and Season 3 is already underway. And it’s going fantastic! All the Avatar stars are already on set.
But the real question is: Who’s joining the cast in Season 3?
Well, here’s what we know so far:
Jon Jon Briones will be playing Piandao (the master sword-fighter and member of the White Lotus).
Tantoo Cardinal (known for Dances with Wolves, Legends of the Fall, and Killers of the Flower Moon) will be appearing as Hama (the bloodbender from the Southern Water Tribe).
And yes—several new faces are also joining the world of Avatar:
Terry Chen as Jeong Jeong, the rogue firebending master.
Dolly de Leon will portray Lo and Li, the Fire Nation twin advisers.
Lily Gao has been cast as Ursa, Zuko and Azula’s mother.
Madison Hu and Dichen Lachman will also appear, with Dichen playing Yandu Chen (a new or expanded character).
