Bollywood is once again trending not due to a film, but through a family emotion.
Legendary screenwriter Salim Khan was hospitalized in Lilavati Hospital, Mumbai on Tuesday morning. Salman Khan rushed to the side of his father immediately the news was announced accompanied by the other members of the Khan family. The prayers of the fans and celebrities in India have been to get Salim Khan back on his feet soon.
But in this somber scene, an ancient interview of Salim Khan has been revived–an interview which sheds some unusual light upon the life of Salman Khan, personally, and the actual cause of his many years of unmarried existence.
Salman Wants his wife to be like his mother.
Salim Khan, in a vintage interview, with film journalist Komal Nahta, has been very candid why Salman could not settle down despite being one of the most sought-after stars in India.
He said Salman would marry, but he has a very definite notion of how to do it.
Salman wants to marry and have them sit at home.
Salim Khan clarified that Salman adores his own mother, Salma Khan, and that subconsciously he seeks the same in the women he goes out with dating- nurturing, homely, emotionally grounding.
Meanwhile, it has a contradiction.
Salman is a victim to strong, ambitious and independent women, who are normally actresses he is working with.
And that is where the trouble begins.
Why Salman Fell in Heroines but Could not Settle.
Salim Khan explained:
Salman is largely attracted to people with whom he works. They are so thrilling and good-looking, and there is attraction during their collaboration. 90 per cent of the time, it is the heroine of his film.
These women are strong-willed, self-sufficient, and always in the news spotlight – the very last thing Salman could ever think of when envisioning a wife to his family.
Salim Khan wrote that it was a psychological and emotional battle:
Salman would like to have a home maker who takes care of the family and builds a stable family…
Yet he falls in love with flying women.
Salim Khan blames that contradiction as the actual cause Salman Khan could not be married.
A Conflicted Father-Son Relationship.
Salman Khan has always been emotionally attached to his father, even though his screen image is machismo.
Salim Khan has already acknowledged that Salman is sensitive, impulsive and has a strong family orientation despite the fact that the world perceives him as the tough guy in Bollywood.
Their friendship has not been flawless, but at one moment, they were not talking six months, still, Salim Khan was the most close emotional part of Salman.
It is even more powerful that Salman rushed to the hospital yesterday.
